Hey Everyone!
So this week was really good. A lot better than last week. On Tuesday we went out to a ward activity in Minnedosa at the beach, and we played soccer and ultimate frisbee then went to a members house and had a really fun bonfire and barbecue. It was great! We also got to help out in a big sandbagging project. We made a 5 foot wall around a guys house. There were 8000 sandbags and we were there for 6 hours. It was so much fun! While we were there a native man named Ross came up to us and asked us about our church, and he wants to meet with us. It was a really great experience. After we did the sandbagging, we went down to the main road into town because we heard it was flooded, and it was crazy! Water is flowing everywhere, and since the water was flowing so fast, all the frogs in the river were all just chillin by the shore, and we were catching them. One of the other elders had one jump out of his hand right in front of my companions camera, and I tried to catch it and I totally knocked my comps camera into the river... it was really funny, and I feel bad, but it was pretty funny.
| This is us after our 6 hour sand bagging project, yes we smell as bad as we look, haha!! |
We taught a few lessons this week. We set up some appointments for future investigators that we met on the street. We talked to a lot of people this week. It was fun.
We played volleyball and soccer for ysa on Saturday. There are only like 3 ysa’s, but we all went to the park and had some guys from Nigeria come and play with us. It was way fun!
We mowed some lawns, and did a lot of service this week. There was a huge car show happening downtown that was really fun. We went to it cause there were so many people there, plus I wanted to do something fun and see some nice cars. It was a blast.
We had a nerf war with a less actives kid (Yusef) and he brought out this sword and he just went crazy! He hit me so hard in the thumb that my fingernail is all black now! I was like "ouuuchh" haha. It was fun though!
We had a huge lunch at a recent converts house and she made us these popusa's, it’s mexican food. Dad probably knows what it is. She made me eat 9 of them. I was so full I almost threw up. Whenever we go over to a hispanics house here we leave just so full. Oh and we emptied her basement cause it was flooded! It was fun!
Well I’m doing well and I hope everything is going good for everyone else. Love you all! Elder Porter
