Hey everyone! Elder Porter made it to the mtc! okay no joke these days are soooooo long. Like we study for like 9 hours a day. As soon as I got out of the truck it was go go go and I didn't even have time to unpack or anything. Loving my companion Elder Cahoon from highland utah. and loving my district. Oh and by the way I was called as district leader the second day we got here so there's some responsibility. Today I had a really neat expierience. Sister Denton who is from England is in my district. She has been so sick with a really nasty cold since yesterday. She asked me to give her a blessing. I was kinda nervous because I have never done that before but I said that I would love to do it. Elder Cahoon gave the annointing, and I sealed the blessing. It was so spiritual. I'm on the west campus mtc at Wyview and Raintree and it's awesome! A lot of walking but its great. We went running today and did some pushups so I'm feeling pretty awesome. I'm in charge of getting the mail haha so everyone loves me.. we all have so much fun. The two other elders in my district Elder Jordan and elder Stieber are funny and we love to mess with each other. haha but the sisters are really awesome! Definetly some cute ones, but thats not what I'm here for haha. Me and my comp teach our first investigator tomorrow and were so excited. I've never felt the Spirit so strongly especially during the workshops and the classroom instruction. We have literally no time so I'm really rushed for time haha. Anyways I'm doing really well, learning alot, and strengthening my testimony in this gospel. I am so grateful for Christ and his Atonement for us. I have come to love everyone I meet especially my comp and investigators. I know it has only been three short days but I'm changing so much for the better because of the power of the Holy Ghost. I love you all so much and I hope that you all are doing well.

I wrote a letter the other day but it probably wont get there till tomorrow

My journey has started, my testimony and faith is growing and I will not stop until this work is done. I am the Lords messenger with the same purpose.

I love you all

your favorite elder

Elder Porter

Kaye Ashby set up a ride for me from the Salt Lake airport to the M.T.C.  Another Elder from her ward was entering at the same time. It was nice, they took us to lunch before dropping us, I left my scriptures in their car, so they had to deliver them, and can you believe that there was another Elder Logan Porter in the M.T.C. at the same time.  Weird!!

September 4, 2013

I am called to serve in the Winnipeg, Canada mission leaving September 4, 2013

Serving a mission will be the hardest thing I have ever done, and may ever do in my life, but I heard a saying from a great friend "A mission is the best 2 years FOR your life." I Know that the church is true, I will serve with all of my heart and will never give up. I will search for those who the Lord has prepared for me to teach. I will miss all of my family and friends, but I know I will be blessed for my service. I am thankful for great parents who have taught me well, especially my Dad who has taught me to work hard and never give up. He once told me that when things are difficult, it's all about your attitude. If you have a good attitude, you can get through anything.
