Hey Everyone!
haha yep its a little cold but I have such a warm parka that sometimes I get too warm and have to take it off when we’re shoveling snow and I start steaming haha. I’m glad you guys had a good thanksgiving, We get to go to the Drennans house tonight for a thanksgiving dinner and Emers had us over for Thursday dinner last minute. It was so good. But yeah Bro. Drennan is part of the rcmp which is canadian swat. He is huge. He looks like the hulk. The other day he was chasing a guy through a field and tackled the guy so hard that he pooped his pants haha. and the whole walk back he was just making fun of him. haha you pooped your pants, haha you think your a tough guy and you pooped your pants, haha you better clean yourself up before stepping in my cruiser or I’m strapping you to the roof haha then he got to the street and everyone was watching and he yelled hahaha he pooped his pants! Look everyone! haha that explains Brother Drennan haha. We knocked on his door the other day and he was like "whats up retards?" hahaha good guy.
Wow high of 74 that’s some heat. I’m going to die coming back to mesa... it hit -1 f the other day and I was walking in just my white shirt for a bit, and it wasn’t even that bad. What’s happening to me...
So this week not a ton happened. We didn’t get to teach any investigators due to our lack of investigators. We went to the park and watched a retard smash his car into the rodeo bleachers and destroy his car. We got out and literally just laughed and laughed haha he was laughing to. Driving around here is freaking dumb some days. The mission won’t buy us snow tires so we get stuck all the time... and I get out and push. It’s super easy to drift here. We do it on accident all the time. Every time a missionary has to back up, one of us has to get out and guide, so instead of that we just do a 180 in the car and go on our merry way. Elder Johnson grew up in Alberta driving in the snow so he’s pretty good. On some roads its straight ice, and you will push the brakes and slide forever.. we almost crashed the other day going like 12mph but we swerved into a snow bank instead. haha. I’m a smart driver so I got to drive into Winnipeg the other day on exchanges with our district leader, that was interesting... driving in the snow is a lot different than driving in the rain and what not.
North-end Winnipeg is absolutely ghetto, like straight ghetto. I thought our old neighborhood was ghetto, it was, but compared to North-end we lived in Beverly Hills. North-end Winnipeg is the crime capital of Canada, #3 stabbing capital of the world. There is a street nicknamed "stabby street" and there is at least one stabbing there every night. Needless to say that’s the street that I decided to drive down. Gangs everywhere. Our district leader had to go and teach a new convert lesson so me and Elder Gardner were on our own in Winnipeg... I just drove to the zone leaders house and we exchanged with them. I went with Elder Carpenter and we just walked around shoveling walks and talking. It was so fun. Then we ran into some ladies on the corner... and by “ladies” I think you know what i mean... it was awkward. We walked far away from there hahaha...
Transfer calls are going to be here on Friday and I am so excited. I would like to go somewhere new hopefully. I want to go to Saskatoon or Moose Jaw or Flin Flon or Swift Current in Saskatchewan. That would be nice.
I’m glad everything is going good for the family and cant wait to talk to you guys at christmas time!!
love you guys!
Elder Porter
