hey everyone!

This whole week the hot water has been out so we've been taking COLD showers, and I dont mean the Arizona cold showers, I mean freezing cold showers. I'm actually sick with a pretty nasty cold because of it. Hopefully the hot water will be back on soon. I guess the water tank burst so everyones pretty ticked. This week has been pretty rough I'm not gonna lie. We had a zone conference about talking with everyone and it was so great. I had a meeting with President Thomas and don't say anything to anyone but he asked me if he needed me to, if I would be willing to train a new missionary at the end of my 6 weeks... I told him if the Lord needed me to that I could do whatever he asked, so hopefully I can be prepared to do that if necessary... well earlier this week I decided that we needed to go tracting... I have been feeling like we don't do enough of that and sometimes I feel guilty. The missionary before us, Elder Briscoe, was in Selkirk for almost 8 months and he tracted every single house in Selkirk 3 times. So Elder Johnson and I went over to help an old man rake leaves because we saw him while we were tracting, and his neighbor came out and literally freaked out on us. He called us pests, and a whole bunch of other extremely rude phrases. He told us to get off his driveway and basically threatened to shoot us. I stepped into his neighbors grass and just stared him in the eye. My patience level was decreasing drastically and I just had to walk away from the situation.. I was pretty upset for the rest of that day. The rejection here is Selkirk is so bad. Tracting isn't going to work here at all..

We've been doing a lot of service for the members here. They love us so much. Missionaries in the past didn't have a lot of interaction with the members and Elder Johnson and I work with the members a ton! We rake leaves, put up lights, and we are almost done building a horse shed for the Archembaults. I'll get a picture of that on Saturday to send you. It's way fun.

Thanksgiving here was superb! We had Thanksgiving meals on Thursday Friday Saturday and Sunday hahaha. We went to our mission leaders home on Friday and all his family was there. Lots of non-members we got to visit with and make connections with, on Thursday we went to Anna Coopers. She's so sweet. She's about 70 years old, widowed and a convert. She was so nervous to have us over. She hadn't fed the missionaries in years and she loves us. We also ate at the Emers with a bunch of their member friends on Saturday. Oh it was so good, and on Sunday we ate with the Archembaults, man it is good to eat! Normally all we eat is a pack of itchiban a day and some fish that we catch. A big thing that they eat here is progies. It's potatoe with bacon and cheese wrapped up in a noodle thing, very good.

I've been getting to know the branch super well and we have been kinda running the branch this week haha. We blessed the sacrament, gave our talks (elder johnson was asked to fill in for a lady on saturday night. so he had no prep time haha) and we taught Priesthood. It was exhausting. We have been getting the members super excited about missionary work and we've noticed a lot of change. Bro Kiskan passed out two book of mormons this week and were getting a lot of other members to invite their friends to talk with us and stuff. Our members are so great. There's a member in our branch (Brother Drennan) who's part of the Canadian swat, so we talk a lot! He tells me a whole bunch of crazy stories.

On Sunday this lady named Teresa called me... she calls me yelling to get her stuff for thanksgiving, to buy her a turkey and cranberry sauce and rolls and stuffing. I swear I've never met this lady in my life. haha We talked to the Emers and they freaked out when I said her name. Apparently she has caused a whole lot of bad things in the branch and we should apparently just ignore her calls.. GO SELKIRK!!

Last night we went fishing. We were there at about 8 pm and we were the only ones there. I just had a feeling that we should go and fish? So we were there and this guy pulls up. He gets out and just starts fishing with us. Real nice guy. His name is George. He brought up his ex wife who was an alchoholic. So I shared about the word of wisdom and we talked about stuff for a good solid hour and I kept tying it back into the gospel. It was pretty good. I gave him a pass along card with our number on it so he can call us so we can all fish again.

This is a really tough area, but I'm doing all I can to help turn it around.

I love you all and keep the end goal in sight. Hold to the rod.
So were saving money by drying our clothes on a fishing line attached all over our apt instead of paying for the dryer. Trashy but thats 12 bucks a month haha

My EXCELLENT fish cooking!!!
